The AT Alabama Planning Committee is excited to announce the Call for Proposals for this year’s conference. AT Alabama is a two-day assistive technology conference designed for educators, therapists, service providers, assistive technology professionals, families, and individuals with disabilities.

Location: Birmingham, Alabama

Proposal Submission Deadline: May 31, 2024

This conference aims to facilitate the sharing of information and best practices in assistive technology. The committee will begin reviewing proposals on May 31, 2024.

We invite educators, therapists, service providers, assistive technology professionals, and families to submit proposals that align with the conference track topics.

Track Topics Include:

  1. Education: Innovative approaches to integrating assistive technology in educational settings.
  2. Communication: Effective communication strategies, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) tools, and enhancing communication access.
  3. Transition and Workplace: Preparing individuals with disabilities for successful transitions to higher education, employment, and independent living, including vocational training and workplace accommodations.
  4. Independent Living and Healthcare: Assistive technology solutions for promoting independence, managing healthcare needs, and enhancing quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
  5. Physical Access and Recreation: Accessibility considerations in physical environments, adaptive sports and recreation, and mobility solutions.
