Accounting Manager

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hour per week, Full-time, Benefits Eligible

Working on the Accounting team and overseeing daily accounting operations. This position will be responsible for administering all aspects of accounting processes and ensuring monthly financial reporting accuracy.

These accounting directors typically oversee a team of a range of employees, from licensed accountants to volunteer workers. They must establish procedures for the thorough documentation of all financial contributions and donations accepted by the organization; these systems involve noting all credited contributions and issuing tax-related documentation to contributors. They also receive reports generated by this activity and review them regularly for accuracy.

Those in this position generally supervise the documentation of all money utilized/spent by the organization, ensure accurate and proper reporting of these transactions, and record them in report-form for executives and board members. Because of the non-profit nature of these organizations, their accounting directors may perform frequent audits of all areas related to the handling and documentation of funding. Many contributors require the results of such audits as a prerequisite for continued involvement with the organization.

Candidates for this position should have an accounting degree, and most employers prefer those with a degree and practical experience in both for-profit and non-profit corporate accounting, perhaps at a supervisory or managerial levels. Applicants should expect to work in an office environment during regular business hours.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Preparation/review of financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule
  • Facilitating and completing monthly close procedures
  • Preparing/reviewing monthly account reconciliations
  • Analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances
  • Coordinating financial, grants and other regulatory audits
  • Monitoring monthly grant billing
  • Ensure accuracy of monthly revenue and expenses by department
  • Manage restricted funds
  • Assist CFO in reporting and meeting preparation for Board of Directors
  • Team Leader for Accounting department
  • Other projects as assigned

Required Skills and Qualities:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory
  • 10 years accounting supervision
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with minimal daily direction from supervisor to accomplish objectives
  • Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to learn in-house accounting system and various billing systems utilized within the organization
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of employees, management and external agencies to maximize performance, problem solving and results

Administrative Assistant

Monday-Friday; 40 hours; Benefits Eligible

Responsibilities: 

Assist the Chief Development Officer with administrative projects and responsibilities on a daily basis; and provide support to the Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Financial Officer during peak seasons or as needed.

Assist with administrative projects and responsibilities including preparing and editing correspondence; preparing agendas and schedules; office supplies; mailings; maintaining and running reports from database; answer and screen internal calls; coordinate project based work; liaison between internal staff and external clients at all levels including Board members; process invoices; back-up to receptionist; and other duties as assigned.

Education &/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field; or at least 4 years of previous experience in an administrative assistant role.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work with internal and external customers, including Board of Directors, in a professional environment required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously required.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) experience required.

Human Resources/Benefits Systems Coordinator

Monday-Friday; 8:00-5:00; Benefits Eligible

Position will be responsible for human resources database management including entering in all new hire information, benefit deductions and updating benefits plans in database; entering in all benefit information with vendors; point of contact for questions related to benefit providers; coordinate annual benefits open enrollment; responsible for new human resources database modules; termination of employees and benefits; manage secure access badge system; assist with new hire orientation; employee documentation and files; HR, EEOC and ACA reporting.

Education /Experience/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with concentration in human resources or business related field preferred.
  • 2 + years of experience with human resources/ payroll systems required.
  • 2+ years of experience working with employee benefits.
  • Knowledge of FMLA leave and tracking a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Paycom, a human resources management system, experience is a plus.
  • Must be an analytical thinker who has experience managing processes and working in database systems.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to work within deadlines.

Speech Language Pathologist – Early Intervention

Monday – Friday; 40 hours per week, Benefits Eligible

Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for providing either direct or consultative intervention for clients within the area of speech, language or communication development.  Particular emphasis of clinical responsibility in the delivery of Early Intervention services (birth-3 years) in the natural environment.  In addition, the SLP will participate as a team member in carrying out the Individualized Family Service Plan and produce the necessary documentation.

Education

Skills Work Instructor

Monday – Friday; 10:00-2:30, Part-time

Position will be working off-site
