Executive Assistant to Chief Development Officer

Monday-Friday; 8:00 am-5:00 pm; Benefits Eligible

Responsibilities: 

Directly supports the Chief Development Officer and helps manage multiple projects for Development team. Duties include the following:

  • Prepares and edits correspondence, communications, presentations, and other documents.
  • Schedules meetings.
  • Prepares meeting agenda and materials.
  • Prepares and circulates minutes from meetings.
  • Handles calls and communication independently.
  • Secures bids from vendors, orders products, and distributes branded items.
  • Tracks, reviews and submits invoices for vendor payments.
  • Maintains event and other spreadsheets.
  • Assists in grant research, applications, and reporting.
  • Works with customer database, both entering donor information and running reports.
  • Serves as occasional backup for Administration Administrative Assistant.

Education and/or Experience 

  • Minimum of a 2-year Associate’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience in an administrative/executive assistant role preferred
  • High level of professionalism including ability to handle confidential information and attention to detail required.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work with internal and external customers, including Board of Directors, in a professional environment required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage projects from initiation to implementation required.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) experience required.

Maintenance Technician

Monday-Friday; 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM; Benefits Eligible

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for assisting the Facility Manager with the overall upkeep and maintenance of the United Ability campus. The applicant will be required to exhibit electrical and mechanical skills to troubleshoot and repair ac units, machinery and other campus systems. He/she will be required to communicate his /her jobs status and report conversations with vendors and staff members regarding work related issues to the supervisor. In addition, this person will be expected to support United Ability programs and activities. Also, some overtime work will be requested.

 Qualifications for Position

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2-3 years of experience working in maintenance role
  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to complete routine maintenance tasks without direct supervision.
  • Must have a valid Alabama driver’s license, automobile insurance as well as reliable transportation.
  • Working knowledge of power tools
  • Must have the physical ability for heavy lifting, (max. 75 lbs.).
  • Knowledge of building code requirements and safety standards.
  • Must have a broad knowledge of AC repair.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Must be able to pass criminal background screening as required by Department of Human Resources (DHR) guidelines
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform preventive maintenance
  2. Perform Inspections, help maintain work order system and purchase logs
  3. Paint, patch and repair walls
  4. Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain campus equipment
  5. Make daily rounds and report issues to Facility manager
  6. Order replacement parts using PO system
  7. Help maintain the housekeeping division of facility as needed.
  8. Perform other duties not listed as directed by Facility Manager

LEP Assistants provide programmatic direct care services to individuals with developmental disabilities; assists in implementation of habilitative, behavioral and recreational programs; maintain confidentiality of records; assist in meeting personal care and nutritional needs; assist and support in making choices in their life; maintain their rights by complying with applicable laws and regulations and perform other work related tasks as required.

Physical Therapist- Adult Day Program

Monday – Thursday; 22 hours per week. 

 Purpose

Physical Therapist is responsible for conducting initial and follow-up assessments/evaluations for adult consumers/participants.  Additionally, PT will prepare required reports/findings, participate in conferences as needed and coordinate/lead/conduct group and individual treatment sessions and consult with parents and caregivers as needed.  Other duties, as assigned.

Education / Experience

  • Minimum of two years experience in PT is preferred; however, new graduates will be considered.
  • Graduated from an accredited program in Physical Therapy.
  • Registered and licensed (Alabama Physical Therapist), or eligible for registration and license and will perform all duties under the supervision of a registered and licensed PT until license is obtained.

Greet and direct visitors within the UCP campus. Hours are on an as needed basis dependent on staffing needs due to vacation coverage, unexpected illness, etc.
