Driver/Shred Tech- Gone for Good

Monday-Friday, 7:00-3:30; Benefits Eligible 

Position will safely drive company truck to client’s business location and back to United Ability; load and unload trucks; provide excellent customer service to client; Maintain proper driving skills; Maintain vehicle and ensures vehicle is in good working order and can pass inspection. Able to provide prompt and preventive maintenance on vehicles; Ensures that confidential documents are secured for transport. Ability to work with disabled individuals; must be able comply with NAID certification standards; perform shredding operations according to set procedures and with attention to safety; perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of driving experience required.
  • 1 + years of loading/unloading and truck maintenance experience preferred.
  • Must have valid driver’s licenses.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to get along with a variety of people, including disabled individuals.

Program Coordinator- Hand in Hand Early Learning Program

Monday-Friday; 7:00am-4:00pm; Benefits Eligible

Assist the Director and Assistant Director of Hand in Hand Early Learning Program (ELP) with administrative projects and responsibilities on a daily basis, supervise ELP Front Desk and manage clerical staff, manage the ELP in the absence of the Director and/or Assistant Director, and provide support to Hand in Hand Teachers as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Gives tours to prospective families. Answer inquiries regarding enrollment. Processes enrollment paperwork for ELP. Prepares registration packet for upcoming school year. Makes changes to classroom rolls as needed throughout the year.
  • Handles administrative projects and responsibilities, including maintaining databases. Prepares/edits correspondence; prepares purchase orders, invoices, agendas and schedules; orders office supplies; handles mailings; maintains/ runs reports from databases; answers/ screens internal calls; Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Assist in overseeing daily staffing requirements.
  • Oversee front desk coverage and responsibilities, and coordinate ELP clerical duties.

Experience/Qualifications/Education:

  • 2 years of experience in administrative assistant role preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.  GED or High School diploma required.
  • Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) experience required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work with internal and external customers in a professional environment required.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously required.

Housekeeper

Substitute Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Adult Day Program

Schedule will be as needed and is flexible Monday-Friday; hours are during day shift. 

The LPN position is a responsible for providing medical care to adult program participants and staff under the direction of a RN or physician.

  • Provides nursing care for participants and staff. Gives medications and performs treatment such as peg tube feeding breathing treatments to program participants.  Measures vital signs of participants.  Administers injections for insulin per physician sliding scale, placement of catheter, dress wound and other medical needs.
  • Assist personal care assistances to ensure each participate is receiving timely, quality care.
  • Follows-up on testing and procedures ordered by healthcare providers.

 Education/Experience

  • Current Alabama State Board of Nursing LPN License
  • Experience with adults who have disabilities preferred
  • Knowledge of regulations and documentation required for providing medical care for adults with disabilities

Maintenance Technician

Monday-Friday; 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM; Benefits Eligible

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for assisting the Facility Manager with the overall upkeep and maintenance of the United Ability campus. The applicant will be required to exhibit electrical and mechanical skills to troubleshoot and repair ac units, machinery and other campus systems. He/she will be required to communicate his /her jobs status and report conversations with vendors and staff members regarding work related issues to the supervisor. In addition, this person will be expected to support United Ability programs and activities. Also, some overtime work will be requested.

 Qualifications for Position

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2-3 years of experience working in maintenance role
  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to complete routine maintenance tasks without direct supervision.
  • Must have a valid Alabama driver’s license, automobile insurance as well as reliable transportation.
  • Working knowledge of power tools
  • Must have the physical ability for heavy lifting, (max. 75 lbs.).
  • Knowledge of building code requirements and safety standards.
  • Must have a broad knowledge of AC repair.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Must be able to pass criminal background screening as required by Department of Human Resources (DHR) guidelines
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform preventive maintenance
  2. Perform Inspections, help maintain work order system and purchase logs
  3. Paint, patch and repair walls
  4. Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain campus equipment
  5. Make daily rounds and report issues to Facility manager
  6. Order replacement parts using PO system
  7. Help maintain the housekeeping division of facility as needed.
  8. Perform other duties not listed as directed by Facility Manager

Greet and direct visitors within the UCP campus. Hours are on an as needed basis dependent on staffing needs due to vacation coverage, unexpected illness, etc.
