You’ll find a theme of employment in our August newsletter. We strive daily to provide opportunities of independence & inclusion for children & adults with disabilities. Helping individuals with disabilities find meaningful employment is a critical piece to gaining independence. We were honored to host Governor Kay Ivey yesterday as she announced an exciting initiative to help adults with disabilities realize their dream job. Governor Kay Ivey Announces Inaugural Disability Initiative at United Ability

United Ability’s LINCPoint facility served as the backdrop for Governor Kay Ivey’s press conference announcing the Inaugural Governor’s Disability Job Fair. Governor Ivey shared her strong commitment to help increase employment for all Alabamians while bridging the gap between employers and individuals with disabilities. While on campus, Governor Ivey also visited United Ability’s Hand In Hand Inclusive Early Learning Program and Enterprises employment division in addition to hearing the adult choir proudly perform “America the Beautiful” for her and other special guests. Serving Up a Great Summer at St. Vincent’s Hospital

This Summer was the beginning of a year-long, ongoing effort to prepare high school students with disabilities to enter the workforce and afford them every opportunity for long-term success.
