United Ability Names Devin Darwin, DPT, as Lead Physical Therapist
United Ability’s Outpatient Clinic congratulates Devin Darwin, DPT, on her new role as Lead Physical Therapist.
A Familiar Face and Trusted Clinician
Devin brings both deep clinical expertise and a long-standing connection to United Ability’s mission. She earned her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from Birmingham-Southern College and completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Samford University. Her journey with United Ability began in 2018 during a clinical internship, where she practiced under Marliese Delgado and quickly fell in love with the organization’s work—and the children and families it serves.

Education and Clinical Background
While studying for her board exams, Devin continued supporting United Ability as a teaching assistant in the Hand In Hand Early Learning Program. This experience deepened her passion for pediatric care and reinforced the importance of family-centered, relationship-driven therapy.
After beginning her career as an Early Intervention physical therapist in 2019, Devin continued serving children and families through early intervention services. Since 2020, she has primarily practiced in outpatient pediatrics, expanding her expertise in child development, movement, and functional independence through physical therapy interventions.
Serving Children Across United Ability
In February 2023, Devin joined United Ability full-time as a physical therapist, providing care across the Outpatient Clinic, Early Learning, and Early Intervention programs. In her new role as Lead Physical Therapist, she will help guide clinical excellence, mentor team members, and continue strengthening the quality of care delivered to children of all abilities.

Life Beyond the Clinic
Outside of work, Devin and her husband, Andrew—also a physical therapist—share a love of the outdoors and adventure. They are the proud parents of Beckham (2) and Dempsey (3 months), both of whom are enrolled and thriving at United Ability’s Hand in Hand program.
Please join us in congratulating Devin on this well-deserved leadership role. We are grateful for her dedication, compassion, and commitment to creating possibilities for the children and families we serve.
