Dr. Charlie Law
United Ability Chief Medical Director Dr. Charlie Law is the only practicing Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatrist) physician certified in adult and pediatric rehabilitation in the state of Alabama. With more than 20 years of experience in treating both children and adults with special needs, he is a medical expert, facilitator and team leader in rehabilitation for his patients. In addition, he serves as a gatekeeper for all non-primary care services. Committed to improving the quality of life for individuals with special needs, he founded the Pediatric Rehab Program at Children’s Hospital of Alabama in 1997 and in 2011 began his tenure as Chief Medical Officer and practicing physician at United Ability enabling him to serve both children and adults with disabilities throughout their lifespan. He’s certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) with a subspecialty certification in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Law is an adjunct faculty member with the UAB Department of Pediatrics at Children’s of Alabama. He’s a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy & Development, the American Medical Association, the Association of Academic Physiatrists, the Medical Association of Alabama, and the Southern Society of Physical Medicine and Rehab.
